Our first class meeting is on Wed Jan 21, 2026 (11-11:50am, BU 24). Our first meeting will include a discussion concerning
goals for the course. I favor presenting an introduction to representation theory, along the lines of my old course notes
linked below, but with several additional applications included beyond those appearing in the notes. Our students
have varying degrees of past exposure to this topic; but I would do my best to make this course as interesting, pertinent and
accessible to everyone as possible. I hope you will be willing to share any thoughts you have on this or other competing
topics of interest in this "second" graduate algebra course.
